MILITARY INCREASED TRAINING NOISE

The communities surrounding Fort Knox to include Meade County will hear increased military training noise from June 12 through June 18. The increased noise may be louder than normal at times. The increased noises will be from military exercises involving aircraft, maneuvers and weapons firing both in daytime and nighttime hours which may cause vibrations as well.

** Recognition **
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office proudly recognize Sergeant Macaigen Perkins for his outstanding dedication and hard work! Sgt Perkins was presented a well-deserved letter of commendation. Sgt Perkins was instrumental in the development and implementation of the new Field Training Officer (FTO) program within the Sheriff’s Office. This initiative is designed to enhance the training of the newly recruited Deputies by providing nearly 400 additional hours of patrol duty training, following their completion and graduation of the Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) Academy. In addition, deputies joining from other agencies will receive tailored variations within this program. The program is a key part of Sheriff’s Wimpee’s broader initiative to elevate the training standards for the deputies, ensuring the office can continue to serve the wonderful citizens of Meade County with excellence and dedication. Join us in celebrating Sgt Perkins’ hard work and sacrifice within the department and the on-going commitment to improve the department and safety of our community!

The Meade County Sheriff’s Office will be closed on Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day. If you have an emergency, please call 911. We still will have Deputies responding to calls.

Due to the overwhelming response from the community, the identity of the 2 juveniles has been identified. As always, the Meade County Sheriff's Office want to say thanks for the continued support of the citizens of Meade County.

***Vandalism***
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office is requesting information on the identity of these 2 juveniles. The juveniles were last seen in the area of the church located at 117 Father Clancy Dr off of Saint Martin Rd in Flaherty in the afternoon hours of Sunday, May 17th. If you know the names of these 2 juveniles or their whereabouts, please contact the Meade County Sheriff’s Office at 270-422-4937 or Detective Knell at 270-617-3089 or 606-202-3356. Any information provided will assist in the identification and the investigation.

Don’t scan the codes, click the links, or as you probably did in school, follow any instructions whatsoever! No legitimate court summons is going to be texted to you or have you stay on the phone for a long time!

The Meade County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for a white male, wearing a red hoodie and black pants in the Rhodelia area. If you see an unknown or suspicious person, please contact the Meade County 911 dispatch immediately. If you have any questions, please call. He is no threat to the community.

The Meade County Sheriff's Office has recently been made aware of persons identifying themselves as law enforcement officers representing this agency and contacting citizens by unknown and private numbers that they have out-standing warrants for their arrest and can only pay the bond or cost of ticket with Bitcoins. If you receive a call from an unknown telephone number or one that is not familiar to you, please do not answer the call. The Meade County Sheriff's Office will never call anyone to tell them they have a warrant or pay anything utilizing Bitcoin as a form of payment.
