Due to the inclement weather, the bands performing at our Backyard Bash are unable to finish their sets this evening.

It is with heavy hearts that Branchville Hose Company No. 1 announces the passing of Ex-Chief Alan "AD" Delea.

AD was truly one of a kind. He was a man who was friend to everyone he encountered. Whether you needed advice, a helping hand, or simply a good laugh, AD was always there. He had a remarkable sense of humor and could tell a story or crack a joke that would leave you laughing long after the conversation ended.

For more than 50 years, AD dedicated himself to the fire service, serving his community with unwavering commitment, pride, and selflessness. His knowledge, experience, and passion for the fire service were second to none, and he became a well known and respected figure throughout the firefighting community.

Countless firefighters benefited from his wisdom, mentorship, and friendship over the years.
When he wasn't serving others, you could often find him in his garage, tinkering with tractors, working on his beloved classic cars, fixing just about anything that was broken, or helping a friend with a project. There wasn't much AD couldn't repair, and there wasn't a person he wouldn't help.

AD's legacy extends far beyond his years of service. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, friendships, laughter, and a community made better because of his presence. His dedication, generosity, and larger than life personality will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Delea family and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving AD during this difficult time.

Thank you, AD, for your decades of service, your friendship, your wisdom, and your unwavering dedication to others. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for the heroes who gave everything so we could live free. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As firefighters, we understand the meaning of service, sacrifice, and standing beside one another in the face of danger. Today, we proudly stand in remembrance of all military heroes who answered the call and never made it home.

Please join us in honoring those who served, those we have lost, and the families who carry their memory every single day.

Branchville Hose Company No. 1 mourns the loss of Ex-Chief John Wyker, a 52 year member whose dedication and commitment to the fire service left a lasting mark on our department and the entire community.

John joined the company in October 1974 and spent many years faithfully serving alongside his fellow firefighters. Through hard work, loyalty, and a true passion for helping others, he became a respected leader within the organization and proudly served as Chief in 1986.

More than his titles or accomplishments, John will be remembered for the kind of person he was. He was always willing to step up when needed, offer support to those around him, and share his knowledge and experience.

John’s passing is a tremendous loss to all who knew him. The years he devoted to protecting and serving others will never be forgotten, and his memory will remain an important part of Branchville Hose Company No. 1 for years to come.

We send our deepest condolences to John’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. We will always remember and celebrate John who was dedicated to service, brotherhood, and community.
