Members have been busy this July 4th evening battling a multiple alarm house fire on N. Bowditch St and a simultaneous motor vehicle fire in the area of Skyline Dr.

Join us this Wednesday at 6:30 PM at East Middle School for a community gathering with Town & School officials and faith leaders to show support for an East Braintree Little Leaguer and his family, who need all our love right now. Whether you’re looking for a shoulder to lean on, want to make a card, or just want to support those in our Town – please come by.

To make it easier for families to attend, free childcare will be available. We will also have community resources on hand through Riverside Community Care for anyone needing extra support or assistance during this time. We are strongest together, let’s rally for #7 in true Braintree fashion.

Important information regarding wake and funeral parking:

Uniformed personnel are urged to utilize shuttle from 10 Plain St, which will begin at 1pm Tuesday (wake) and 8:15am Wednesday (funeral).

Cooperation will allow for relatives and friends to access the limited parking on site.

Chief Frederick Viola and Braintree Firefighters IAFF Local 920 regret to announce the passing of Lieutenant Paul Smyth, President Emeritus, after a courageous and hard-fought battle against Occupational Cancer.

Lt. Smyth embodied what it means to be a leader. From former Union President to Fire Lieutenant, every member respected his commitment to our Department. His tenure was defined not merely by rank, but by the compassion he displayed each and every day.

The Braintree Fire Department and IAFF Local 920 extend deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. Details regarding memorial arrangements will be shared as they become available.

Rest peacefully, Lieutenant. Your watch has ended, but your influence carries on.

Braintree Firefighters Local 920 would like to thank FX Messina Enterprises for being a longtime supporter of public safety in the town of Braintree. Members recently had the opportunity to practice roof ventilation operations on a structure scheduled for demolition. With support like this from the community we are able to practice and improve our ability to serve the town.
