The Brainerd Public Schools Foundation had the honor of awarding nearly $250k in scholarships to Brainerd Public Schools' Seniors on Wednesday, 5/20. We moved this event to the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts for the first time and we were very pleased! BPSF also helped to award nearly $150k in community scholarship awards, and recognized over $1M in Military awards! CONGRATULATIONS to the Class of 2026! As a Bronze-level Warrior Club sponsor, Lexington Manufacturing has the option to direct $500 toward either a scholarship or a grant. This year, they chose to support a grant for the BHS Business Education program.

The program, taught by Landon Brainerd, offers a wide range of courses including Entrepreneurship, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Computer Applications, CIS Accounting, CIS Intro to Business, and Personal Finance. In addition, students gain valuable real-world experience through work-based learning courses such as Work Seminar and Work Experience, which connect classroom learning to part-time jobs and internships.

This program provides outstanding opportunities for students of ISD 181, helping them build practical skills, explore career paths, and prepare for success beyond high school.

BPSF is currently collecting gently used Warrior gear for our Warrior Worn initiative. This effort raised nearly $3k for our school pantries last year! Drop boxes are available in all school buildings now through May 15, and at the Washington Educational Services Building through June 30.

Since 2016, BPSF has received a $5,000 grant each year from the Innovative Schools Project. These funds go directly toward our teacher grants- helping educators across our district bring fresh, creative, and innovative ideas into their classrooms.
