Kindergarteners from across the district, including our most terrific Kindergarteners from Garfield Elementary School, met at the 39th Annual KinderFriend Day at the Brainerd High School Adamson Field to celebrate the end of their special kindergarten year and to sweetly kick off the start of summer. The next time all the kindergarteners will be on this field is when they graduate in the year 2038.

Garfield kindergarteners are headed to the skies!

This week, our Kindergarten classes enjoyed a fun and exciting field trip to Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport. Students learned about airplanes, helicopters, airport safety, and got a full tour of the entire airport. They even got a special Q&A with two real pilots. The children loved exploring the airport and seeing aircraft up close!

A huge thank you to the airport staff (Jennifer, Jessica, Mr. Joe, & Sandy) and to all our volunteers for giving our students such a memorable time and terrific field trip.

We are so proud of our curious, respectful, eager to learn, kindergarteners. In fact, our bus driver came back with a handwritten note and two envelopes full of stickers saying we were the “BEST” passengers he’s ever had!

Mrs. Webster's and Mrs. Zerwas' Kindergarten class had a great time together during their field trip to the Safari North Zoo.
