Reed-Custer School District is accepting bids for a 2008 Ford F350 Dump Truck with 8’ Plow.
Includes; 8-cylinder engine, 5.4 liter, automatic transmission, power steering, manual windows/locks, air conditioning, and a 9’ hydraulic dump box. The truck has 43,000 miles. Other details include: 8’ Western Ultra Mount Plow, 5’ Swenson Hydraulic salter with light, and front and rear strobe lights. It is in good working condition. The box does have rust.

Viewing/Test Driving; the vehicle can be viewed and/or test driven at the Administrative Center, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. excluding school holidays. Please call 815-458-2307 to make an appointment.

SEALED bids will be accepted until November 14th, 2025 at 1 p.m. at which time they will be opened in the Reed-Custer Administration Center Board Room.
Bids will be submitted to the Board of Education for approval on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, at the regularly scheduled board meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Reed-Custer CUSD 255 has the right to decline any and all bids.
This vehicle does not come with a warranty and/or guarantee.

STOP MEANS STOP!

Within the past several weeks, Braidwood Police Department and the Reed-Custer School District 255, have received numerous calls and complaints regarding drivers ignoring SCHOOL BUS STOP ARMS.

Studies have shown that children are at higher risk of being injured while entering or exiting a school bus, than riding in one. School buses are equipped with camera's inside and outside. If you are convicted of a Stop Arm Violation, it can lead to high fines and your driver's license will be suspended for three months.

Please, SLOW DOWN and STOP, to keep our children safe!

Reed-Custer Community Fieldhouse update

We are happy to announce that we plan on reopening the Fieldhouse to the general public beginning January 30, 2022 (3-8 pm). We plan on opening M-F mornings, 5-7 am and M-Thu evenings, 6-8 pm. Additionally, we will be open on Sunday afternoons, 3-8 pm. These hours are subject to change. The updated calendar will be posted on the district website under the fieldhouse calendar section.

Please realize that everyone will need to fill out new paperwork, so we ask for your patience the first few days. All memberships are in 6 or 12 month increments. We are providing memberships for half the price of previous memberships as a token of appreciation for being disrupted as long as we have.

You are required to wear a mask while inside the fieldhouse.

Reminder--RCMS and RCHS students have FREE memberships with their student ID’s.
