Brady Public Schools has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Nebraska Career Education (NCE) Outstanding Middle School Program Award, a prestigious recognition honoring exemplary achievement in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming at the middle school level.
The award recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in developing innovative, high-quality career education opportunities for students while aligning instruction with the Nebraska Career and Technical Education Model.
Selection criteria for the award include:
✅Instructional programs aligned to the Nebraska Career and Technical Education Model
✅Student achievement in both career and academic arenas
✅Innovative instruction based on state model programs of study
✅Leadership and personal development through Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)
✅Effective implementation of career guidance
Alignment to Nebraska's workforce needs and economic priorities
✅Strong community engagement and partnerships
Brady Middle School was formally recognized during the Nebraska State NCE Conference held in Kearney on June 9.
Following the awards banquet, Superintendent Ann Foster, JAG Specialist Sharon Axthelm, and Agricultural Education Teacher Trevor Mann presented a conference session titled "Building Futures Early: Innovative Middle School CTE Programming at Brady Public Schools."
The presentation highlighted Brady Public Schools' commitment to creating engaging and innovative Career and Technical Education experiences for middle school students through hands-on learning, collaboration, and community partnerships.
Conference attendees learned about the district's successful strategies for introducing career exploration at an early age, building strong relationships with local businesses and community organizations, and creating authentic learning opportunities that connect students to real-world careers. Presenters also shared student success stories, program accomplishments, and practical ideas that schools of all sizes can adapt to strengthen middle school CTE programming.
Brady Public Schools continues to be a leader in preparing students for future success by fostering career awareness, leadership development, and workforce readiness beginning at the middle school level.
