🚀 We've officially launched into the final week of Brady Summer Camp! 🌟

Today, campers stayed busy with hands-on learning across all grade levels. Our youngest campers heard a space story read by an astronaut in a zero-gravity environment, built rockets, and created their own spacecraft. Students in 1st and 2nd grade began their study of the planets while practicing math and reading skills. The 3rd and 4th graders kicked off a week focused on division facts and learned about comets, asteroids, and meteors.

Meanwhile, our junior high campers continued their journey through A Wrinkle in Time, put their crane designs to the test, and sharpened their math skills with Yahtzee.

It's hard to believe we're already in the final week of camp! We've had an incredible few weeks of learning, creating, and exploring together. 🌎✨

Students who have attended at least 75% of Summer Camp days have earned an invitation to our end-of-camp celebration at Wild Bill's Fun Center in North Platte!

Permission slips were sent home with eligible students today. Please review, sign, and return them as soon as possible.

Here's a look back at the last day of Week 2 at Brady Summer Camp!

Students wrapped up another great week of space-themed learning with solar system activities, math games, hands-on projects, and skill-building challenges. From solar system mobiles and "write the room" activities to lunar vehicle engineering and multiplication practice, our campers stayed busy learning and creating.

Brady Public Schools has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Nebraska Career Education (NCE) Outstanding Middle School Program Award, a prestigious recognition honoring exemplary achievement in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming at the middle school level.

The award recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in developing innovative, high-quality career education opportunities for students while aligning instruction with the Nebraska Career and Technical Education Model.

Selection criteria for the award include:
✅Instructional programs aligned to the Nebraska Career and Technical Education Model

✅Student achievement in both career and academic arenas

✅Innovative instruction based on state model programs of study

✅Leadership and personal development through Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)

✅Effective implementation of career guidance
Alignment to Nebraska's workforce needs and economic priorities

✅Strong community engagement and partnerships

Brady Middle School was formally recognized during the Nebraska State NCE Conference held in Kearney on June 9.

Following the awards banquet, Superintendent Ann Foster, JAG Specialist Sharon Axthelm, and Agricultural Education Teacher Trevor Mann presented a conference session titled "Building Futures Early: Innovative Middle School CTE Programming at Brady Public Schools."

The presentation highlighted Brady Public Schools' commitment to creating engaging and innovative Career and Technical Education experiences for middle school students through hands-on learning, collaboration, and community partnerships.

Conference attendees learned about the district's successful strategies for introducing career exploration at an early age, building strong relationships with local businesses and community organizations, and creating authentic learning opportunities that connect students to real-world careers. Presenters also shared student success stories, program accomplishments, and practical ideas that schools of all sizes can adapt to strengthen middle school CTE programming.

Brady Public Schools continues to be a leader in preparing students for future success by fostering career awareness, leadership development, and workforce readiness beginning at the middle school level.

Our youngest campers created Jupiter models, worked on puzzles, and practiced fine motor skills. Students in 1st and 2nd grade sharpened their math skills with space-themed board games while learning about comets and asteroids.

Meanwhile, our 5th-8th graders wrapped up their character treat project inspired by A Wrinkle in Time. After voting on their favorite creation, Calvin's Brownie Twist came out on top! Students worked together in the kitchen to prepare the dessert and then enjoyed sampling the winning treat.

Summer Camp is flying by, and we're loving every minute of it! 🌎✨

🚀 We can’t believe we’re already halfway through Summer Camp!

Today, campers continued their space-themed adventures with hands-on learning and creativity. Students made planet bracelets, shape rockets, constellation models, and Earth-Moon orbit models while practicing important reading and math skills.

Our older campers kept working through A Wrinkle in Time, explored the differences between fantasy and science fiction, sharpened their math skills through games, and prepared ingredients for their character-inspired treats.

🚀 Week 2 is underway at Brady Summer Camp!

Despite a little thunderstorm excitement, our campers had another great day of learning and exploring. Students learned about planets and moon phases, practiced reading and math skills, completed constellation activities, and continued their adventures through A Wrinkle in Time. Junior high students also checked on their growing sugar crystals and battled it out in a game of Equation Battleship.

Every day brings new discoveries as we continue our journey through space! 🌎✨
