🚨 STOP SIGN SAFETY REMINDER 🚨

As the amount of complaints in regard to vehicles failing to stop on SR770 West (West Warren Road) continue to increase, here are some basic reminders.

Stop signs aren’t suggestions—they’re the law. Every driver has a responsibility to follow them correctly to keep everyone safe on the road.

Here’s what you need to remember:

🛑 Come to a COMPLETE stop
Your vehicle must stop fully—no rolling stops. Your wheels should stop moving behind the stop line, crosswalk, or intersection.

đźš— Every vehicle must stop
Do NOT follow the vehicle in front of you through the stop sign. Each driver is required to make their own complete stop—every time.

đź‘€ Yield
After stopping, check for traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists. Yield to any vehicles or people who have the right of way.

➡️ Proceed only when safe
Don’t rush. Move forward only when the intersection is clear and it’s your turn.

⚠️ Stay alert in work zones and busy areas
Traffic patterns can change, and extra caution is needed to protect workers and other drivers.

We understand that this may be frustrating. Unfortunately as of now, PennDot has no solution to fixing that part of the road. Do your part in keeping others safe. If caught violating these traffic control devices, a citation will be issued.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pennsylvania State Trooper Struck While Investigating Crash in Butler County

Butler County, PA — A Pennsylvania State Trooper was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon while investigating a two-vehicle crash at the US-422 exit from I-79 North in Butler County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the Trooper was conducting a roadside crash investigation when a passing vehicle struck them. The Trooper was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The driver involved remained at the scene.

This incident highlights the ongoing and dangerous failure of motorists to respect roadside safety laws. Emergency scenes are among the most hazardous work environments in the country, yet drivers continue to ignore flashing lights, reduced speeds, and Move Over requirements.

Slow Down Move Over Inc. stresses that these incidents are preventable. Pennsylvania’s Move Over Law exists for a reason — to protect law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS, tow operators, and highway workers who put themselves in harm’s way to serve the public.

Every time a responder is struck, it is not an accident — it is a breakdown in driver responsibility and awareness.

Slow Down Move Over Inc. stands with the injured Trooper and their family and calls on all motorists to slow down, move over, and stay alert when approaching any emergency or roadside scene. Lives depend on it.

About Slow Down Move Over Inc.
Slow Down Move Over Inc. is a roadway safety advocacy organization dedicated to protecting first responders, tow operators, and highway workers through education, awareness, and accountability.
