FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Emergency Rescue at Miller Street Under Investigation

Bradford, PA – On May 29, 2026, at approximately 8:18 p.m., the City of Bradford Fire Department and City of Bradford Police Department responded to 33 Miller Street for a report of an approximately 70-year-old male who had fallen into the creek behind the residence.

Upon arrival, emergency responders located the male unconscious at the bottom of the flood control wall after an estimated fall of more than 20 feet into the creek area. Due to the difficult terrain and location of the victim, members of the City of Bradford Fire Department conducted a careful and coordinated rescue operation to safely extricate him from the creek bed.

Following the rescue, the victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and subsequently airlifted to a regional trauma center for further medical treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by the City of Bradford Police Department. No additional information is being released at this time.

The City of Bradford Police Department would like to commend the City of Bradford Fire Department and all responding emergency personnel for their professionalism and teamwork during this challenging rescue operation.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We ask our community to take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor our fallen heroes and the families they left behind. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

The America 250 PA parade is approaching fast on June 20th, 2026 in downtown Bradford. All parade entries must complete the forms below and submit them to [email protected]

This celebration is for all of McKean County not just Bradford.

This parade and celebration will be large scale with a lot of planning and preparation in progress. Please register asap if you plan to participate in the parade.

There will be a lot more information on this event to follow in the coming weeks.
