The department had a wonderful day on Saturday the 13th honoring past Chief Howard Warfield with the 21st annual memorial golf tournament at the Pennhills Club. Fire Chief Dan Burkhouse signaled the start with a resounding Q Siren and multiple air horn blasts from Squad 15-2. That put 60 players to the T-boxes and sent golf balls flying. BTVFD would like to honor the Warfield family and give a huge Thank You to all our sponsors, players, golf committee and Pennhills staff for making this such a special event.

Busy weekend for station 15. Friday afternoon 2 members of BTVFD and also members of the District 15 Wild Fire Support crew took a shift on the ANF Lanceing fire. 6 D-15 crew members did mop up on a slop over fire from the main fire. Saturday morning much needed rain dampened the kids portion of the Salvation Army run. Squad 15-1 and utility 15 were part of the activities for the children and were given Smokey Bear handouts. Then Sunday morning we participated in the festivities at the Zippo Case Museum send off of Linda Transki on a fund raising walk to support the Honor Flight for veterans. Vets from post 212 and the local American Legion were on hand. Her walk went from the museum to main street past the VFW and Legion. She walked to Bradford Manor and met with vets then continued out West Washington street on her way to Niagra Falls.

During Monday nights regular department meeting station 15, ambulance 1, and BTPD were dispatched for a land rescue on the walking trail / old Erie railroad grade somewhere between East Warren road and Lewis Run. Just after dispatch the accident victim was found in the 1100 block of South ave. Ambulance 1 requested air medical and we established a landing zone south of the Custer city ball field as there was a little league game on the field. After the LZ was terminated BTVFD members returned to the station to continue the department meeting.
