A huge THANK YOU to Lakewood Ranch IDA & Stewardship District Staff, Lakewood Ranch Community Activities, the Food Bank of Manatee, and ShredMedic, who came out and helped make this year’s event such a success. Because of your support, we didn’t just have a great turnout - we "shredded" our previous records!

📊 Check out the growth over the past three years:
• Total Vehicles: 258 → 305 → 476
• Paper Shredded: 5,540 lbs → 8,500 lbs → 10,710 lbs
• Food Collected: 948 lbs → 1,005 lbs → 1,335 lbs
• Donations Received: $334 → $385 → $735

Every year, this event gets bigger and better, and it’s all thanks to our amazing community. We’re so grateful for everyone who participated, volunteered, and contributed.

FREE COMMUNITY SHRED DAY & FOOD BANK OF MANATEE FOOD DRIVE
Join Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority (IDA), Stewardship District (SD), Community Activities (LWRCA), and The Food Bank of Manatee, a PLUS program of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee, on Saturday, April 25th, for a free Community Shred Day and Food Drive. As many as 9 million Americans have their identity stolen every year, and shredding documents helps prevent thieves from accessing personal information. Take advantage of this free shredding service to dispose of documents typically used by identity thieves to commit fraud — old bills and receipts, junk mail, account statements, and unused pre-approved credit offers.
Lakewood Ranch IDA, SD, and LWRCA are supporting The Food Bank of Manatee and asking attendees to bring a non-perishable (non-glass) food item to help feed our neighbors in need (cash donations are also accepted). As the only food bank based in Manatee County, The Food Bank of Manatee needs your food and monetary donations!
*Please Note* Personal documents only. No commercial/business documents will be accepted for shredding. Please limit shredding to two boxes maximum, no larger than 24” x 12” x 12”.

BALMORAL WOODS BLVD PAVING PROJECT

Dear Residents,

The current CDD6 roadway repair and resurfacing project provides an opportunity to address the section of Balmoral Woods Boulevard between the gatehouse and Edenmore Street. This work will restore deteriorated areas and align the roadway with the previously resurfaced portions to support future maintenance needs.

Beginning immediately and continuing through next week, pavement milling, base improvements, and resurfacing will be underway. During this time, vehicular access will be limited. Access will remain available; however, temporary delays should be expected.

Guests and resident contractors visiting during this project should be asked to utilize the Legacy Boulevard gateway to minimize disruption and for safety reasons.

WATCH THE WEATHER - WAIT TO WATER.

Florida’s weather can change quickly. That is why we encourage residents to follow a simple but effective habit in the summer months.

Watch the Weather. Wait to Water.
If your lawn has received enough water from rainfall, turn off the irrigation system and turn it back on when needed. It sounds easy, and it is. Yet this one action can make a big difference in water conservation.

Why it matters:
• During the summer months of June, July, August, and September, yards need no more than ½ to ¾ inch of water every two to three days
• Up to half of all residential water use goes toward outdoor irrigation
• Overwatering can harm grass roots, promote weeds, and wash fertilizer into nearby waterways

When you avoid watering after rainfall, you help:
• Conserve water
• Lower your utility bill
• Support healthier lawns and landscapes
• Reduce runoff into rivers, lakes, and springs

Before turning on your sprinkler:
• Delay irrigation if rainfall has met your lawn’s needs
• Check the local forecast to see if rain is on the way
• Use a rain sensor, gauge, or a soil moisture sensor
