Keep Manatee Beautiful inspires community involvement by bringing together volunteers, businesses and local government to continue to impact the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. Keep Manatee Beautiful works as a liaison with local governments to protect and enhance Manatee County’s natural resources, specifically its public properties. Our activities benefit local governments by b
eing cost effective, developing citizen ownership of public property, and assisting with the overwhelming task of litter removal and prevention. Our cleanup programs are a great way to fulfill school community service requirements, involve youth in green projects and learn about Manatee County’s natural spaces, native vegetation, wetlands and shores. We believe that lasting change happens when people work together one person at a time, one community at a time. Through Keep Manatee Beautiful, our community has been involved in the programs and events described on our Facebook. All these programs and events have a significant purpose and effect on our community whether it is pertaining to marine debris and its effects on water quality, or to keep medians, parks and other areas litter free or how oil, chemicals and debris affect water quality and threaten wildlife. These programs have not only generated more awareness in our community but has created a deeper sense of responsibility and helped in reaffirming Keep Manatee Beautiful’s mission. People and volunteers generously donate to accomplish our mission. They are honored to be able to participate in all our events and programs which are designed to improve our quality of life by educating our children and the members of our community of the importance of our environment. We are the torch bearers of the future of this community. Since 1991, our volunteers and sponsors have made it happen!
