Your voice matters in Bradenton’s future. 🏙️

The Bradenton City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 8:30 a.m. to discuss the proposed creation of a new Community Redevelopment Area (CRA).

A CRA can provide a framework for addressing infrastructure needs, encouraging investment and supporting the long-term vitality of an area. Before a new CRA can be created, the City must complete the Finding of Necessity process required under Florida law.

Residents, business owners and community members are encouraged to attend, learn more and share their input as part of the public process.

25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸

This morning, our community gathered at Rossi Park for the annual Tribute to Heroes Memorial Ceremony, honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel and countless others who answered the call to help.

The ceremony brought our community together in remembrance with an Honor Guard presentation, flag ceremony, and solemn reminders of the courage, sacrifice and unity shown on that day and in the years since.

We thank the Manatee County Fire Chiefs’ Association for continuing this important tradition, along with City of Bradenton Fire Department, Bradenton Police Department and all of the first responders, honor guard members and participating agencies who helped make today’s tribute possible.

We also thank Mayor Gene Brown, City of Bradenton Council Members, Congressman Vern Buchanan and our many community leaders and residents who joined us in honoring those we lost and those who continue to serve. The City of Bradenton was proud to formally recognize September 11, 2026, as Tribute to Heroes Day in remembrance of their courage, sacrifice and service.

We will never forget.

A pirate with a Key to the City? What could possibly go wrong? 🏴‍☠️🗝️

Before Saturday’s Bradenton Marauders game, Mayor Gene Brown presented Marty the Marauder with a Key to the City in recognition of his longstanding service to our community.

Marty traded the sailing life for the ballpark years ago, and these days he keeps pretty busy around Bradenton. He’s made nearly 150 community appearances this year alone.

After all that time staying on the straight and narrow, we figured he could be trusted with a key. 😉

Congratulations, Marty!
