We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Illinois State Fire Marshal Small Equipment Grant in the amount of $24,961.00. This will be used to purchase 5 sets of structural firefighting coats/pants, 7 pairs of firefighting boots, 5 hoods, 5 gloves, and 7 fire helmets. Thank you to the OSFM for the award!

Each year during EMS week, Morris Hospital EMS system reviews calls submitted and recognizes providers for "OUTSTANDING EMS PERFORMANCE." This year five of our members were recognized. They are, Paramedic Morgan Rogers, Chief Nate Basham, Deputy Chief Mike Nicola, Lieutenant Zack Gotter and Firefighter Brett Jett. Their dedication to patient care and advocacy has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do for our community. Congratulations everyone!

Last night some of our instructors helped Coal City teach principals of vehicle extrication for the Chief Shabbona fire academy.

****Update****
ComEd has completed a temporary repair to the pole. They are in the process of restoring power to those still without power. All roads are now open.

Crews are on scene with ComEd of a utility pole on fire. Due to the incident some residents are experiencing power outage. Also, due to hazards, Rte 53 and the Main Street RR crossing has been shut down.
