FINALLY Bi-partisan progressive economic justice legislation: Equal Pay is strongest and fairest where women and people of color are members of Unions! Now if only Labor Unions will advocate for affordable, quality childcare and paid family leave in their bargaining agreements!

"Speaker Johnson wouldn’t bring this bill to the floor, but House Democrats and the Labor Caucus built bipartisan support and used a discharge petition to force a vote," said one Democratic lawmaker.

TAKE ACTION FOR SURVIVORS! from allied organization HAVEN ~
Tell Congress: Keep the Office on Violence Against Women independent

The current administration is trying to fold the Office on Violence Against Women into a larger grant office within the Department of Justice. You can speak up for survivors today - tell Montana’s members of Congress this is a bad idea.

This office, known as OVW, provides funding to Haven and other organizations that support survivors across the country. Its work focuses on domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.

Congress should reject this attempt to combine OVW with other grant-making offices:

*Federal law says OVW must remain a separate office.
*OVW gives survivors a strong voice within the Department of Justice.
*Combining OVW with other grant offices could lead to more delays in federal funding for domestic violence shelters and other organizations that support survivors.

Please call Montana’s members of Congress today. Ask them to reject any plan to fold OVW into a larger grant office.

Sen. Steve Daines: (202) 224-2651
Sen. Tim Sheehy: (202) 224-2644
Rep. Ryan Zinke: (202) 225-5628
Rep. Troy Downing: (202) 225-3211

You can say:
“Please reject any plan to fold the Office on Violence Against Women into a larger grant office. Federal law says OVW must remain separate. Survivors need a strong voice within the Department of Justice.”

Thank you for speaking up for survivors.
