On Sept. 7, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Bozeman Police Department responded to a local medical center for a report of an adult man who sustained stab wounds. Through further investigation, officers found the victim had been stabbed by a roommate at a residence in the 5000 block of Saxon Way in Bozeman. The victim is expected to survive their wounds and is receiving medical care.
Officers responded to the residence where the suspect barricaded himself inside a bedroom. Gallatin County Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) responded to the scene due to the violent nature of the stabbing. At approximately 8:50 a.m., the suspect was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held at the Gallatin County Detention Center on a charge of Attempted Homicide, a felony, and is scheduled to appear in Gallatin County Justice Court on Sept. 8, 2026.
