4-H Summer Camp Co-Director(s) Needed๐Ÿ•๏ธ๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿ€
Gallatin 4-H is looking for TWO enthusiastic adults volunteer to join Molly, our 4-H Extension Agent, as Summer Camp Co-Directors!

This is SO much more than just helping at camp. Our teen Camp Counselors spend 9 months planning, preparing, learning, and growing as leaders before they welcome campers. As Co-Director, you'll help guide them through that journey.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
LEAD MONTHLY MEETINGS - Help facilitate monthly counselor meetings and keep the planning process moving forward.
MENTOR TEEN LEADERS - Help counselors build confidence, communication, teamwork, organization, and leadership skills.
PLAN CAMP - Work alongside Molly and the counselors to plan the annual 4-H Summer Camp from the big picture down to the smallest details.
TEACH & TRAIN - Help teach leadership, child management, experiential learning, activity planning, and basic camp skills.
ORGANIZE & PREP - Help organize schedules, supplies, materials, orders, donations, and all the behind-the-scenes details that make camp happen.
BE THERE FOR CAMP (July 3- August 4, 2027) - Support teen counselors as they lead campers, solve problems, teach activities, and put their leadership skills into action.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
No previous camp-director experience required - just a willingness to invest in young people!
Someone who is:

โœ“ Passionate about helping young people grow
โœ“ Organized & dependable
โœ“ Positive & encouraging
โœ“ Comfortable mentoring teens
โœ“ Willing to teach & learn
โœ“ Creative & willing to jump in
โœ“ Excited about 4-H, leadership & experiential learning
โœ“ Ready to have FUN!

๐Ÿ€4-H PROJECT LEADERS WANTED!๐Ÿšจ
Gallatin County 4-H is gearing up for the 2026โ€“2027 4-H Year, and weโ€™re looking for community members who are ready to share their skills, passions, and time with the next generation!

Based on current youth interest, we are especially looking for adult volunteers to lead:
๐Ÿงต Sewing
๐Ÿ“ธ Photography
๐Ÿฐ Pocket Pets
๐Ÿ”ง Small Engines
๐Ÿ”ฅ Welding
๐Ÿชš Woodworking
๐ŸŽฏ Western Heritage Shooting Sports

You donโ€™t have to be an expert or have years of teaching experience, you just need a willingness to share what you know, learn alongside youth, and help them grow.

And weโ€™re also looking for additional helping hands in several existing projects and clubs, including Knitting/Crochet, Shooting Sports, Baking, Camp Counselors, and Leathercraft. You donโ€™t have to do it alone! Consider co-leading alongside an experienced 4-H volunteer. Having additional leaders allows us to welcome more youth, offer more opportunities, and keep our projects growing.

Interested in getting involved? Email the Gallatin County 4-H Office at [email protected] to learn more!

The other recipient of the MABA/MGEA Agri-Business 4-H Scholarship is Samuel Oโ€™Hara! He is a fifth-generation Montanan who has always loved the outdoors and growing immersed in the Montana way of life. He says that living here has allowed him to enjoy a dream childhood, running across open land, hunting, riding horses, and watching sunsets. He enjoys hunting, fly fishing, skiing, training bird dogs, being active in his church, and helping his neighbors and community.

This year marks Samuelโ€™s 13th year in Gallatin County 4โ€‘H. In 2025, he chose to attend Western College of Auctioneering, where he discovered his true calling. He will attend the University of Montana Western to study Farm and Ranch Management and Business, to pursue a career in livestock auctioneering and work with livestock. ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‚
