Our newest park area is here! On Friday, we hosted a ribbon-cutting, celebrating the opening of Southwood Park. This 23-acre park, located at Stucky Rd and S 17th Ave, is being built in phases. Future phases are looking at including a skatepark, pickleball, and tennis courts, and a dog park will soon be complete.

Said Mayor Morrison at the ribbon-cutting, “It is clear that park spaces are inextricably linked to the place of Bozeman. It is something that we value deeply… And as you look around from this vista, you can see that this is exactly the type of place where we’d want a park of this style and this scale.”

It’s beautiful out! Come enjoy the new chairs, picnic tables, playground, and fields.

Have thoughts on development, historic preservation, or community character in Bozeman’s historic downtown and surrounding neighborhoods? We’re updating the way the City regulates building design in the area, also called the Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District or NCOD. Take the online survey to share your thoughts through interactive activities, including visual preference exercises and topic-specific questions focused on what’s working well, and what could be improved.

The survey will be open until June 30. Better get it done while you can! Share this post, tell a friend, nudge a neighbor, and let’s get the message across.

Take part in the decision-making process to better shape Bozeman’s NCOD, preserve its history, character, and more. Visit https://engage.bozemanmt.gov/ncodupdate for more info and make sure to spread the word!
