Reminder: Parking is prohibited on City streets 2AM-6AM. The Department of Public Works routinely handles ongoing maintenance during those hours and vehicles parked in the street impede their progress.

Vehicles found in violation are subject to a citation.

This week marked the continuation of our annual 4th grade Bike Safety program and Bike to School event.

On Wednesday, the Boyne City Police Department presented a one hour bike safety lesson to each of our 4th grade classes. The students received tips to stay safe while riding their bikes and most importantly learned how to properly wear a bike helmet.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of an anonymous donor with the coordinating assistance of the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, each of our 103 Boyne City 4th graders were given their own bike helmet.

Today, we invited students of all grade levels to join us in riding their bikes to school. This year we used a new route starting at Classic Instruments and riding to school via the Boyne Valley Trailway. We had a great turnout of students and parents! We would also like to give a special thank you to the team at Classic Instruments for allowing us to use their parking lot for staging and as our starting point.

Thank you to the community support to keep this alive and we look forward to next year!
