Gusty northerly winds and low relative humidity behind a cold front that moved through the area this morning will produce an elevated fire danger this afternoon.

Burning is strongly discouraged. We are under a Red Flag Warning today and tomorrow.

Cotile VFD is currently taking applications for four (4) part-time firefighters!!
Cotile VFD (RPFD Eight) is looking to hire part-time firefighters. These are 34-hour-per-week positions that will be on a rotating schedule. These positions will also require overnights and some weekends. Schedules are placed out for one to two months in advance.
Experience and Certifications preferred and recommended; however, training can/will be provided for the right candidates with a set time frame to earn certifications.
Any interested applicants are asked to apply in person at the Fire station located at 55 Parker Road to fill out an application, any time Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Please bring any supporting documents you may have to submit with your application.

We are still under a Parish-Wide Burn Ban.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for all parishes north of I-10 today. With the dry, windy conditions, fire can spread very rapidly.

Please do not burn.

Today, Cotile VFD is holding our first Toy/Boot Drive to help bring Christmas cheer to the children in our community! Please come by to donate and help us continue with this great cause for our local community! We are the corner of St Clair Rd and Hwy 28 West! We will be here until 2:00pm today!
