Candidate Support Training (CSP)
National Board Standards come to life through the four components of the certification process: a content knowledge assessment; reflection on student work samples; classroom video and analysis; and documentation of the teacher’s impact as a teaching professional.
Candidate Support Training provides the candidate facilitator tools to Support new teachers to develop into accomplished practitioners
Integrate pursuit of board certification into teachers’ work
This is a two-day workshop. July 14-15, 2016. Gary Ransdell Hall (GRH) 1002, 8:30 am to 4 pm CDT.
Lunch on your own. All materials will be supplied.

WKU JumpStart Seminar for National Board Candidates
WKU JumpStart Seminars© is an intense one-day workshop for new candidates. Facilitators provide guidance to candidates on the major aspects of the NBPTS certification process, such as interpreting standards, videotaping, forms of writing, ethics, the classroom centered entries, assessment center preparation, organization and format. The goal is that when candidates leave, they have the confidence to move forward using the tools provided for them, developed a network of fellow candidates, and a plan of action to complete the process.

Workshops will be in Bowling Green on the WKU campus. Each participant will receive materials to support the candidacy process.

Renewal Seminar (Profile of Professional Growth) for NBCTs
WKU Renewal Workshops are designed to help NBCTs getting ready to go through the process and for new NBCTs to develop a professional growth plan for the first ten years of certification. The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) offers the Profile of Professional Growth for renewal of National Board Certification with the renewal period being ten years from the respective date of certification of each National Board Certified Teacher. You must be in your eighth or ninth year of certification to begin the renewal process. However, it is advantageous to start planning and understanding the process as early as possible into your first 10 year certification period.

Entry Review Sessions provide a forum for National Board Candidates to receive feedback from fellow candidates and from National Board Certified Teachers. Each session begins with a general Q & A’s.
Workshops will be in Bowling Green on the WKU campus. Each participant will receive materials to support the candidacy process.
