WCRJ / Aramark HARVEST Program
Yesterday marked the first food delivery to Western Kentucky University Campus Child Care with the partnership between Warren County Regional Jail, Aramark, and WKU we are calling “Little Hilltopper Family Meals”. The HARVEST Program is part of WCRJ Aramark’s In2Work Program, where inmates are studying food service and finding purpose and hope in food budgeting, food preparation, and food safety, all while working toward their ServSafe certification. This program is part of WCRJ's reentry programs and allows inmates to give back to their community while serving their sentences. Preparing the food is part of the programming, and the food delivered to WKU will be provided to families at WKU Campus Child Care who need a little help. With today’s inaugural food delivery, 25 families whose children attend the WKU Campus Child Care will take food home tomorrow for the weekend. I want to give a special THANKS to the inmates in the program, Scott Vineyard, our Aramark Food Service Director, and all the staff at WKU Campus Child Care for the partnership that allows our program to give back to our community. This is the start of a great program that benefits all those involved while spreading purpose and hope.
