This year is a Wrap!! It’s been such an awesome year with these amazing young ladies. We ended our last official meeting today with special guest, Officers Cassidy and Owens if BGPD. Teaching our young ladies what it meant to be a female officer while being a strong leader in the community. Thank you all so very much😊 We also completed a self reflection activity to look back over the school year; our goals, accomplishments, struggles and hopes. The HZ chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority helped us with our activity today as well as Ms. Callie Harper.❤️ Can’t wait to see everyone for our Pearl Ceremony May 2 from 5-6:30 at Lost River Elementary. Please reach out to Latoya Marks for questions about the Pearl Ceremony. Until next year Lost River Elementary "Leading Ladies"!❤️❤️ Thank you to all our speakers, guest and volunteers this year.

Our last two sessions, we focused on
“Manners and Introductions,” with some amazing volunteers from the ETA Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and “Love is Love,” to celebrate Valentines Day and Black History Month! Our young ladies learned the importance of introducing themselves appropriately and always showing up at their best, as well as loving the beauty in all of our differences-from our beautiful skin to our culture and interest. Great work ladies!!❤️

So thankful for some amazing women who helped our Leading Ladies and Girl Wonder have their Holiday Celebration!🌲💛 We made Christmas wreaths with the lovely Maxine Hardin of Bowling Green Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., as well as assistance with our meal, snacks and art supplies from other great members of this chapter! A nail spa with the talented Alina Roeun from Aligned by Alina. They created their own Christmas canvas and truly had a great time. They truly made my heart smile. Thank you parents for allowing your young ladies to participate and a huge thank you to our volunteers❤️

I’m this session, Ms. Jkeyah Patterson (Program Coordinator of Parker Bennet Center) did an amazing activity, “SERVE, Service
and helping others is what we do!” Our Leading Ladies made cards for teachers and staff of Lost River, and created a sweet treat basket to simply say Thank you and Happy Holidays. The holidays are always a fun time at school, but also a very hectic time. Ms. Jkeyah created a fun and interactive activity to help our ladies focus on being of service to others. Thank you Ms. Jkeyah for your lesson today, and thank you for your help Ms. Callie! 💛

Session Two of, Mental Health Matters!” It’s so important for our young men and women to learn this early, to recognize when they are struggling, what that looks like and how to cope. It all starts with loving yourself, enjoying who you are and who you are becoming. Thank you LCSW, Ericka Church, intern and student Kiersten for this phenomenal lesson. Also thank you so much to our volunteers-the lovely Ms. Callie Harper and the wonderful women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. HZ Chapter of WKU❤️
