Today was a great day at DCMS! Students enjoyed our first Club Day of the year, followed by lunch outside and a special ice cream treat. A fun day to be a Gator!

🧠 Drakes Creek Academic Team Applications Are Open!

Do you know a 7th- or 8th-grade student who enjoys trivia, writing, problem-solving, academic challenges, or friendly competition? The Drakes Creek Middle School Academic Team is looking for curious, dependable students for the 2026–27 season!

Students may participate in Quick Recall, Strategic Problem Solving, Written Composition, and individual content assessments in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Arts and Humanities.

No previous Academic Team experience is required. We are looking for students who are willing to learn, prepare, attend practices consistently, and support their teammates.

Team members will generally practice two afternoons each week until 4:30 p.m. Students and families should carefully review the commitment expectations before applying.

Students can find the application in their grade-level Google classroom. Students should sign in with their WCPS school account and complete the application with a parent or guardian by Friday, September 18.

🐊 Meet the Gators! 🐊

Join us as we kick off the 2026–27 school year and celebrate our Gators competing in fall sports!

We would love for all of our middle school teams to come out and be recognized. We want this to be a fun community event and a great way to kick off the fall sports season!

We’ll have several competitions, food trucks, face painting, a photo booth, and, of course, we’ll be announcing and recognizing all of our fall teams.

After Meet the Gators, everyone is encouraged to head over to the high school girls soccer game and support them in their first home game of the season! ⚽️
