We are now in Stage 1 of our Water Conservation & Drought Contingency Plan. To support our community’s water conservation efforts, residents are encouraged to follow this watering schedule: ODD addresses on Wednesday and Saturday. EVEN addresses Thursday and Sunday.

Copied from Bowie Police Department: We have reached the season in which we celebrate the Independence Day of our great nation.

July 4th is right around the corner and we at the Bowie PD understand your desire to shoot off fireworks. However, we remind our citizens that according to our city ordinances, it is illegal to discharge pyrotechnics/fireworks within the city limits. The violation of this type of ordinance is considered a Class C Misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000.00.

City of Bowie Ordinance Sec. 5.202 Throwing or Exploding Fireworks Unlawful:
No person shall throw or explode any firecrackers, roman candles, skyrockets, torpedoes, grenades, or any kind within the city limits of Bowie, Texas.

We consider you all part of our city family. Please be considerate for the safety of your fellow citizens and the well-being of their pets, who experience anxiety caused by loud noises.

Just a note on this Christmas Eve…. On behalf of our Bowie Volunteer Fire Dept Ladies Aux and the Bowie Fire Dept we wanted to THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU WHO DONATED to our Annual Toy Drive! Without your assistance we could not have assisted the 250 individuals who reached out for help this year. Because of your generosity, those individuals can have a Merry Christmas!! THANK YOU ALL!!!
