🚨Mayday alert for FFPM Demair Lloyd’s family🚨

The men and women of the Prince George’s County Fire + EMS Department (Maryland) are mourning the sudden loss of Firefighter/Paramedic Demair Lloyd, who suffered an unexpected medical emergency after completing his shift. FF/PM Lloyd was known for always checking in on his colleagues and friends, and for his calm, steady presence on emergency calls. His dedication to others and unwavering professionalism earned the respect and admiration of those who served alongside him.

In 2024, FF/PM Lloyd received a Life Safety Award for his care of a cardiac arrest patient who made a full recovery, due in large part to his efforts. Throughout his career, he made a lasting impact on countless lives through his compassion, commitment to service, and exceptional care. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Let’s honor Demair and his family with the relief they deserve.

The fire service is built on a simple principle: when one of our own calls for help, we answer.

Today, we're asking our community, friends, family, and fellow firefighters to rally for our fallen Brother Demair Lloyd through The Yard Foundation's Mayday Campaign.

This fundraiser has been established to provide direct support during a difficult time and help ease the burdens that no firefighter or family should have to face alone.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Just as firefighters stand ready to serve others every day, now is our opportunity to support the family of our fallen firefighter and show the strength of our fire service family.

Please consider making a contribution and sharing this campaign with your networks.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Firefighter/Paramedic Demair Lloyd. Brother Lloyd had just finished his regular 24-hour shift and was at home when he experienced a medical emergency.

A proud member of the Official Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department Page since 2006, Demair dedicated himself to serving at Station 841 in Calverton. He was not only a valued teammate but also a dear friend, and his absence is deeply felt by all of us in our fire department family.

Please keep Firefighter/Paramedic Lloyd’s family, friends, and everyone at Station 841/Calverton in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
