Wesley Wilson was a 2025 graduate of Bowdon High School who unexpectedly passed away just 6 months after graduation. Through the generosity of Wesley's parents, Brandon and Melissa, two Bowdon High School Seniors were awarded scholarships to provide for college and work related needs. Last November his parents discovered a TikTok he has posted titled “How to Succeed in Life.”
Wesley said:
Find your people—the ones who will never switch up on you, the ones who will keep your grass green when you’re not home.
Find the people you will eventually consider family, and work together in life to make sure everyone succeeds.
And finally, trust in the Lord. Everything happens for a reason. He wouldn’t put you through anything if He didn’t think you could handle it.
These are profound words from a 19-year-old who had graduated high school less than seven months earlier. Those words now hang on the wall in the Wilson’s home. Since his passing, his mom and dad learned that Wesley quietly helped people in ways we never even knew.
It is their hope these scholarships will help students succeed in life so that, one day, they too may be significant in the lives of others. In this way, the cycle of generosity and purpose continues. While you may not change the entire world, you can change someone’s world. Let us all come together to do just that—to make a lasting difference and to be a source of significance in the lives of others.
