This is the face of a happy State Representative!

Yesterday, while knocking on doors, I met a wonderful couple and told them about Maine's Sales Tax Fairness Credit and the Medicare Savings Program. Today, they stopped by my office hours, and I helped them apply.

The result? They'll save $204 per month on their Medicare Part B premium, receive a $215 Sales Tax Fairness Credit this year, and qualify for two State of Maine relief payments totaling $600 this summer.

This is one of the most rewarding parts of serving as your representative. Passing laws is important, but so is making sure people know about the programs and assistance those laws provide.

Yesterday, the Legislature enacted LD 2071!

I introduced this bill because last summer, the federal government made it more difficult for healthy adults, pregnant women and children to get vaccines. This bill removes those barriers by allowing pharmacists to write prescriptions required by the federal government, in accordance with guidance from nationally recognized scientific organizations.

The bill now moves to the Governor's desk.
