Due to an order by the State of Maine, hunting in Bowdoin, regardless of permit status, is prohibited until further notice.

In order to ensure the safety of the public, and assist law enforcement in their search, effective Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12:01 a.m. all hunting will is prohibited only in the following towns until further notice:

The Maine State Police have ordered a shelter in place lockdown for the Town of Bowdoin, and surrounding areas. All residents should stay indoors, lock their doors, and take extreme caution in opening your doors to anyone. Please report suspicious activity and any tips to the tip line established by the Maine State Police.

Any sightings of the suspect should be immediately reported to law enforcement, and you should NOT approach or attempt to interact with the suspect under any circumstance.

The Town of Bowdoin's thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of this senseless tragedy.

If you or someone you know needs assistance or if you or anyone you know are struggling with mental health and/or thoughts of violence or self-harm, please call 988 to speak with crisis support.

The Town of Bowdoin is issuing a shelter in place advisory. All residents should stay inside with your doors locked. Please do not approach any individuals and report any suspicious activity to the Sagadahoc County sheriff’s office immediately.

Please be safe and vigilant.

Maine State Police have ordered a shelter in place lockdown for the Town of Bowdoin. We encourage residents to follow all guidelines issued by law enforcement.

All residents should not leave their home and should shelter in place until further notice.

The Town Office will also be closed today.

Public Hearing Notice

What: Town of Bowdoin Site Plan Review Public Hearing
When: Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 7:30 PM.
Where: Bowdoin Town Office.

The Planning Board will hold a public hearing at the Town Office to receive public comments on the Site Plan Review application of Russell & Timothy Wing for a self-storage facility near the intersection of Main Street and Bing Moore Road (Tax Map 4 Lot 13). The application is available for review at the Town Office.

Our annual Town Clean Up Day will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

This is opened only to residents of Bowdoin with a valid Bowdoin address. Proof of residency may be requested.

Residents in the area of Doughty Road:

The west end of Doughty Road will be closed from Monday, August 28th thru Labor Day. An update will be posted when the work is complete.

As a reminder. The temporary bridge over the failed culvert on the east side of Doughty Road is still in place and is a single lane bridge.
