COMMUNITY INVITATION

Subject: Dedication Ceremony Honoring Fallen Bow Officer

Augustus B. Farmer

On Monday, June 15th, 2026, at 9:30 AM, the Bow Police Department will host a dedication ceremony in front of the Safety Center flagpole to unveil a permanent granite memorial honoring Officer Augustus B. Farmer.

June 15th marks exactly 133 years to the day since Officer Farmer made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty serving the Town of Bow on June 15th, 1893.

For over a century, his sacrifice was quiet. Following recent historical research, Officer Farmer’s legacy has now been rightfully and permanently recognized on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial wall in Washington, D.C., the New Hampshire Memorial wall in Concord, and the Officer Down Memorial Page. This local dedication finally brings that honor home.

We invite all Bow residents, neighbors, and friends to stand with us as we unveil his memorial plaque and ensure his name is forever woven into the history of the town he protected.

The outdoor ceremony will be brief (approximately 25 minutes), featuring a reading of Officer Farmer's story and a formal unveiling. Following the ceremony, we invite everyone inside the Safety Center training room for coffee, refreshments.

Please join us on this significant anniversary as we pay a long-overdue debt of honor to one of our own.
