💜 Thank you, The Rotary Club of Niwot, for your incredible support of SPAN! We’re grateful to Danielle Holmes who took the time to stop by SPAN and present us with this check.

The Rotary Club of Niwot is committed to making a difference in our local community, including supporting domestic violence shelters through financial assistance and education. Their generosity helps strengthen the resources and support available to survivors and their families.

We so appreciate this continued partnership. Together, we can help create communities where everyone can live free from violence. 💜

🏈 Community, connection, and CU football! 💛🖤

SPAN had a great time at the CU Luncheon, connecting with community partners, supporters, local leaders, and familiar faces—and meeting some new ones along the way!

There’s already plenty of excitement building around another season of Colorado Buffaloes Football and Coach Prime. But for SPAN, being part of the CU community is about more than football. It’s about coming together to build a community where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected.

💜 And this fall, we’re excited to bring that message to the conversation as October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM).

CU will host a special DVAM Football Game on Saturday, October 31, when the Buffs take on Kansas State!

Come cheer on CU, show your support for survivors, and stop by the SPAN table to say hello. You might even leave with some SPAN swag. 😉

💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Football brings us together. Let’s use that connection to build a community free from domestic violence.

We hope to see you there!

What happens when violence is treated like a joke?

A recent golf ad showing a man shoving a woman to the ground sparked a larger conversation about how we see and talk about violence against women.

That conversation matters.

In Boulder County, about 1,000 of the 8,000 cases handled by the District Attorney’s Office each year are domestic-violence-related. Behind every case is a person—and often a family—navigating fear, safety and difficult decisions.

Awareness starts conversations. Conversations can change how we recognize violence, respond to it and support survivors.

Let’s keep the conversation going.

💜 Thank you, Community Foundation Boulder County for awarding SPAN a Community Trust Grant to support the vital services survivors and their families rely on!

Safety looks like a 2 a.m. hotline call answered. A shelter bed for a mom, her kids, and their beloved pet. A counselor listening and helping someone find hope and begin healing. A support group. An advocate walking someone through a protection order. A classroom conversation about healthy relationships.

For more than four decades, SPAN has been a vital part of our community’s safety net. This support means that when someone reaches out for help, SPAN is there. 💜

🌟 National Night Out at San Juan del Centro! 🌟

SPAN was honored to be part of this amazing community gathering, celebrating National Night Out!, a police-community partnership focused on building connection, trust, and safer neighborhoods.

It was a fun evening filled with food, games, music, and meaningful conversations alongside the Boulder Police Department local leaders, and fellow community organizations. SPAN and other organizations were there to connect neighbors with resources and support, because we believe strong relationships and accessible resources help create safer, stronger communities.

Thank you to San Juan del Centro for inviting SPAN to be part of such a wonderful evening and to everyone who came out to connect, celebrate, and build community with us! 💜

✨ When we show up for one another, we help create brighter futures for everyone.

SPAN was honored to be invited to the Big Smile Fundraising Concert Big Smile Project “Walk in the Light,” at Roots Music Project.

This mission resonates deeply with SPAN. While our work is rooted in supporting survivors and families in our own community, we know how important access to resources, opportunity, safety, and support can be in helping individuals and families thrive.

Thanks for the invite, .chimanga.5

🫶 When your coworkers know exactly what you need.

Our Legal Team surprised our Shelter & Housing Team with the sweetest little pick-me-up! ✨ A whole spread of goodies, a little self-care, some fun desk treats, and the kindest note:

“Thank you for all the work you do to support survivors and each other. Please help yourself to some treats.”

Because supporting survivors is important work—and supporting each other matters, too.

Thank you, Legal Team, for spreading a little joy, kindness, and appreciation! 💕
