Justice, reimagined with scissors and glue.

Today, Bothell Community Court welcomed local artist Andrea Lewicki for a collage workshop that added a new layer of creativity, connection, and reflection to the courtroom.

Andrea guided participants, staff, and community members through an intuitive process using shapes and images to reflect thoughts and emotions in the moment.

It is a reminder that Community Court is about more than accountability. It is about support, belonging, and building strong connections.

As the new year approaches, Bothell Municipal Court is preparing for a major transition in judicial leadership. We both honor the service that brought us to where we are today and welcome the leadership that will continue to guide us forward. Our court remains strong and is deeply committed to a smooth transition that supports the administration of justice in our beloved community.

We first extend our heartfelt thanks to the Honorable Mara J. Rozzano for her dedicated service to the Bothell Municipal Court. Judge Rozzano joined the court in 2019 during one of the most challenging chapters in our court’s history, arriving just months before the COVID-19 pandemic brought profound challenges to our community and reshaped our justice system. We are grateful for her service and the steady guidance she provided during a time of significant change.

We are honored to welcome Bob Langbehn as Bothell’s next Municipal Court Judge. He brings more than 22 years of experience as a defense attorney, prosecutor, and Judge Pro Tem. Judges, court staff, and colleagues have spoken highly of his commitment to community engagement and restorative justice, and his ability to work effectively with diverse and vulnerable populations. We look forward to working with him as he begins his term on January 1, 2026.

Thank you, Judge Rozzano, for everything you have given to Bothell. And welcome, Judge Langbehn, we are excited to begin this next chapter with you.

Following a nationwide search, the Bothell City Council has confirmed the appointment of Wallace “Bob” Langbehn as Bothell’s next Municipal Court Judge. Please join us in welcoming Judge Langbehn to the Bothell community!

Judge Langbehn brings more than 22 years of legal experience in the region, having served as a defense attorney, prosecutor, and Judge Pro Tem. He received strong endorsements from Judges, Court staff, and former colleagues, who highlighted his alignment with Bothell’s values, commitment to community engagement, leadership in restorative justice, and ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations.

Bothell Municipal Code stipulates that a municipal judge be appointed every four years. The nationwide recruitment process began in August 2025 and was facilitated by a recruiting firm. The City received 25 applications from qualified candidates across the country – candidates were evaluated through a comprehensive effort designed to engage Court stakeholders, community members, and City leadership in selecting a judge and shaping the future of the Bothell Municipal Court.

Judge Langbehn’s term will begin on January 1, 2026, and continue through December 31, 2029. For more information on court operations, visit the Bothell Municipal Court webpage: https://www.bothellwa.gov/187/Municipal-Court
