UPDATE: The road is now open. Thank you to our police department and the many crew members who assisted in this response.

⚠️ Bothell Way NE remains closed in both directions from NE 188th Street to Reder Way due to a collision that damaged a power pole and brought down power lines in the roadway. The road is expected to remain closed until repairs can be made, which may take six to eight hours. ⚠️

Here's what you need to know:

➖ Public Works crews have detours in place and are cleaning debris and checking for any impacts to the storm system.
➖ Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is onsite. Their current repair estimate is six to eight hours, but this may change as work continues. PSE will determine whether a partial reopening is possible, and the road may reopen earlier if safe.
➖ Traffic is flowing smoothly through the detour route, and crews will remain onsite until PSE’s full team and traffic control are established.

Please avoid the area if possible and follow posted detour signs when traveling through. Bothell Police Department will be providing updates on their page as cleanup and electrical restoration work continues.

Bothell, let's talk weeds. Invasive weeds.

Himalayan blackberry, hedge bindweed, tansy ragwort, and spotted knapweed might have fun names, but each can cause real problems in our yards, neighborhoods, and natural areas. They all have three things in common:
➖ They spread fast, especially in summer.
➖ They crowd out native plants and disrupt local ecosystems.
➖ Now is the best time to pull them, before they go to seed.

Once these weeds bloom, they’re only weeks away from producing tiny seeds that can lead to not-so-tiny problems. Removing them now helps protect pollinators (like bees) and native plants, reduces the need for herbicides, and helps prevent future infestations. Your yard, your neighbors, and local wildlife will thank you later.

Check out this blog post from our partners at King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks to learn how to identify these weeds and remove them from your yard: https://bit.ly/SummerWeedsToWatchFor

Hot coffee and conversations filled Mobius Hall today in Bothell!

Thank you to the nearly 100 community members, business leaders, partners, City councilmembers, and staff who joined us for the 2026 State of the City. This year's conversation focused on the work shaping Bothell's future: affordable housing, greater access to transportation, economic vitality, environmental stewardship, community trust, and building a safe, inclusive, and thriving city for everyone who calls Bothell home, whether for a day or a lifetime.

Special thanks to the Bothell Kenmore Chamber for hosting another great State of the City event, and Community Transit, the Port of Seattle, and Cascadia College for their support.
A recording of the event will be posted on the City's YouTube channel at a later date: YouTube.com/

Heads up, Bothell travelers! Waynita Way NE/96th Ave NE will soon be reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic and temporary traffic lights between the Sammamish River and NE 162nd Street. There will be two weekends of work:

➖ 7:00pm Friday, May 29, to 7:00am Monday, June 1

➖ 7:00pm Friday, June 5, to 7:00am Monday, June 8

This work is part of the City’s Lift Station One Bypass Project. Crews will be working on sewer infrastructure and replacing sidewalks – a pedestrian detour will be in place. Each reduction will last approximately three days, however work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, follow the temporary signals, and use caution near work crews! You can learn more about this work and what crews are building on our website: https://www.bothellwa.gov/1964/Lift-Station-One-Bypass-Project
