This week we are starting to clean up from winter. As we move through your area of the Township, we ask for your cooperation in moving vehicles and objects off the road way. The more room we have to work, the more we can safely and efficiently cleanup. As always we appreciate your help.

📚✨ Take a Walk Down Memory Lane! ✨📚

Did you or a family member attend North Star High School? We recently cataloged a large collection of extra yearbooks from now going back to the mid-1940s, and instead of keeping them stored away, we’d love to see them go to people who will truly treasure them.
These yearbooks are filled with familiar faces, school memories, sports teams, clubs, and moments from decades past. Whether you're reconnecting with your own memories or preserving family history, this is a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of our school’s story.
Are you a class reunion coordinator? We would be happy to work with you to acquire multiple copies to share at your next reunion and help classmates relive those special years.
If you’re interested in checking availability or claiming a yearbook from a specific year, please email the current yearbook advisor, Krystal Boburchock, at [email protected] . Some years are unavailable or have limited quantity, so don’t want to message. Let’s get these memories back into the hands of the people who lived them!

Somerset County, Pennsylvania Launches New Mass Notification System to Enhance Community Safety

Somerset, PA 12/23/2025 – Somerset County, Pennsylvania has partnered with Regroup to launch a new mass notification system designed to keep the community informed and prepared during critical events. This advanced platform delivers urgent updates through phone calls, text messages, emails and more—ensuring fast, reliable communication when it matters most.
From severe weather and road closures to emergencies and community alerts, the system provides real-time notifications that help safeguard families, businesses, and residents. Powered by Regroup’s trusted technology, the platform strengthens Somerset County’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to any situation.
“We’re committed to keeping our community safe and informed,” said Craig Hollis-Nicholson, 911 Operations Manager. “This system gives us the tools to share critical information instantly, so everyone can take the right steps to protect themselves and their loved ones.”
Somerset County encourages all residents to register today to stay prepared and connected. Together, we can build a more resilient and informed community.
Somerset County has chosen Regroup as a replacement for the previous mass notification system they utilized, CodeRED by Crisis24 (formerly OnSolve), due to a cybersecurity incident which compromised that system in November 2025.

If you receive a flyer in the mail from Covington Independent Fire Company just throw it away. Their mailing service mixed up their resident address list with Somerset County.

For all of our residents planning on coming to our June meeting (tomorrow Tuesday, June 10 @ 7:00 pm). We have had correspondence with our Solicitor, Engineer, and the Solar Farm people in regards to the project on Rolling Hills Rd. However at this time we have no updates finalized enough for the public meeting. You are all more than welcome to attend, we just want to prepare you for the fact that we don't have much to pass along. However we are working towards answers and possible solutions to the issues raised at our last meeting. Remember this is still in the early planning stages and is no where near the approvals stage. None of the additional personnel we had in May will be in attendance tomorrow. So if you come or if you don't come and still have question or concerns, we will be compiling a list and emailing it to the appropriate persons and will have all attendees back with answers/updates for the July Meeting (Tuesday, July 8th @ 7:00pm). So please send those to the Township email [email protected].
