“If you build it they will come but now your work has just begun” 🪹

Many thanks to Angela Baron with the New York State Bluebird Society (NYSBS.org) for presenting on bluebird biology, conservation, and nest box maintenance at our Bluebird House Workshop!

26 community members joined us this morning to learn about how to be good stewards of bluebirds and then the Conservation Advisory Council walked folks through constructing their very own nest boxes.

We're excited to see you all at our upcoming Bluebird House Workshop on Saturday, April 18th!

All bluebird house kits have been reserved but you are still welcome to join us for presentations by the New York State Bluebird Society (NYSBS.org)!

Hello Friends!

🌞While this warm up has been welcome after such a long stretch of cold it has not been favorable for our 2026 Snowshoes & Snowmen event.

❄️Unfortunately, due to lack of sufficient snow for snowshoeing, we will be cancelling our Snowshoes and Snowmen event, planned for tomorrow Saturday, 2/21 10:00am - 2:00 pm.

☃️Should we get more snow this season, don't forget - you can always check out snowshoes from the Boston Free Library!

🌲 Thank you for joining us last weekend for the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Workshop, led by CCE-Erie, the Western New York Land Conservancy, and NYS DEC. Together, we learned about this invasive pest's impact on hemlock populations and the ecosystem services hemlocks provide, how to identify HWA damage, and how landowners can help protect their hemlocks!

Thank you for joining us at the 2025 Local Environmental Awareness Fair (L.E.A.F.)! We're excited to announce the WINNERS of our annual Beauty of Boston Photo Contest.

📸This year's theme was "Life Among Us". From birds in flight to bees in the garden, barnyard companions to woodland wildlife, we invited the community to capture the creatures that bring life to our farms, fields, and backyards. We had 17 fabulous photo entries this year and 77 people came out to cast their vote.

Many thanks to all of you for making this photo contest a success! All photos will be featured on our website and page, so stay tuned.

🍁 We had an amazing day at the Local Environmental Awareness Fair (L.E.A.F.)! Over 300 people joined us at the Boston Town Park Lions Shelter on Saturday, September 13th to visit with 17 incredible local organizations.

🍁Families and friends dug for fossils, visited with llamas, learned about local wildlife and tree identification, practiced casting, explored telescopes, checked out books from the BookMobile, and discovered numerous ways to connect with and care for our environment!

🍁We want to extend a huge thank you to all of the organizations that spent their Saturday with us and to the members of the Town of Boston CAC and Friends of the CAC for making it possible!
