Massachusetts Visitor Industry Council

Massachusetts Visitor Industry Council The Massachusetts Visitor Industry Council represents the collective interests of the commonwealth's third largest industry, tourism.

The mission of MVIC is to represent the collective interests of the Tourism Industry to state policy makers, inform its members about key issues concerning the industry, and coordinate industry promotion and product development. To fulfill this mission MVIC needs to develop a strong working relationship with State Government, particularly with the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT),

Massport, and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA). It also needs to strengthen its relationships with the Regional Tourist Councils (RTCs), Massachusetts Restaurant Association (MRA), and the Massachusetts Lodging Association (MLA). To accomplish the mission the coalition must establish a broad membership base and develop continuing programs valued by its members. Specifically MVIC should gather and officially report employment and financial statistics, develop performance metrics of key indicators of the industry's importance to the economy of Massachusetts. Special attention should be directed towards advocating for the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism and the Mass Marketing Partnership.
