🚨 Fact Check Friday: Outdoor Warning Sirens

Myth: You should be able to hear outdoor warning sirens inside your home.

Fact: Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors to seek shelter. They are not intended to be heard clearly indoors, especially with doors and windows closed or while you’re sleeping.

Follow trusted local sources like Wayne County EMA

Bottom line: If you hear a siren, go inside and get more information right away. Don’t rely on sirens as your only warning method!

Over the past 24 hours, our area has received approximately over 3.00 inches of rain. With this amount of rainfall, flooding can develop quickly, especially in low lying or poor drainage areas.

Stay aware of your surroundings and keep an eye on current weather conditions. Being informed helps you stay prepared and safe.

If you plan on coming to the benefit tomorrow, please see the attached map. We have limited parking available at the firehouse, but the churches in town have graciously offered their parking lots to us to use for the event!

Tomorrow is the Day! Come out and help support Chris and his family! This is a cash only event as we do not have the ability to accept cards, sorry for the inconvenience. The silent auction will run from the start at 4 pm with bidding closing at 7 pm so we have time to collect the winner's payment and distribute the items. We ask the bidders to be present please. We hope to see you tomorrow!
