Comrade nor'easter cancelled Ed Sheeran's shows...and has moved us online this time. We are doing IN PERSON volunteer events every 4th Saturday, so stay tuned! Catch us ONLINE tomorrow.

Fire up your laptop for abolition! We will train you to read and log mail from our incarcerated members. If you enjoy making graphics, we can also train you to make the graphics we share about individual members. This engine room work is what makes building friendships across walls possible - and reading mail from incarcerated people deepens our commitment to the long haul!

📅 Sat, 9/26, 3-5pm
💻 online this month only

Required:
💻 a computer (not a tablet or phone, it won't work)
❤️ an open heart and mind

Join us 09/28 to write birthday cards to our incarcerated members! We'll provide profiles of people with upcoming birthdays, cards, stamps, pens, and masks— all you need to bring is yourself (but we never say no to Forever stamps). This is also a great time to write your pen-pal, or ask us for help finding someone.

Or join us 09/26 to read and reply to mail from incarcerated people in MA. Getting to meet and assist our members is an honor, and can be very powerful.

Please RSVP for both events at at tinyurl.com/AMP-Events

We are heartbroken to announce the death of one of our members incarcerated in the MA DOC. We are not sharing his name, but invite you to celebrate his memory, and the memory of 6+ other men who have died in the DOC this year. Try some of his favorite activities in remembrance: watching sports (especially wrestling), being with animals or dnating to the MSPCA, riding motorcycles, or reading a biography or autobiography.

Our member's 67th birthday would have been next week. To our knowledge, he is the second person to die this year while awaiting a parole board decision.

Massachusetts has one of the oldest prison populations and largest percentage of Lifers in the country. Up to a quarter of incarcerated people in MA are sentenced to die in prison, not by lethal injection, but through the equally deadly passage of time.

It is torture to keep elderly or sick people behind bars until they die. In memory of our member, we remind you Life Without Parole must be ended. We must turn to presumptive parole, increased medical parole, clemency, mitigation and resentencing, and any other means to begin to empty and close prisons.
