Providing homeless Veterans with the tools for independent living. https://linktr.ee/NECHV

The Center was created in 1990 as the nation’s first and largest Veteran-specific homeless shelter. It began as a 100-bed, emergency facility in a surplus VA office building, and by 1991 was recognized as the 142nd “Point of Light” by President George H.W. Bush during his administration. Since that time, the NECHV has continued to improve its specialized model for Veterans. The Center has develope

d a comprehensive residential treatment program (serving over 300 veterans at any given time) comprised of the emergency housing and transitional housing program, including specialized housing for female homeless Veterans in the NECHV Women’s Dormitory Program. NECHV also provides extensive services in substance abuse counseling, post detox, mental health, case management, accessing the Veterans Administration system, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), pre-employment training, post-incarceration re-integration, job placement, housing placement, dental and medical treatment, and daily hot meals.

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause and honor the many brave individuals who gave their lives in service to our country. The legacy of those we have lost will never be forgotten. Because of their sacrifice, the freedoms we have today are possible. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the families and loved ones of these heroes.
