Congratulations on a beautifully executed Capstone, Cohort 78!

Led by Chef Avery, our graduating Orange Hats served up an impressive seven-course meal that left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

From the flavorful beef skewers to the irresistible fried chicken and waffles with blueberry syrup, every course showcased the skill, creativity, and hard work our students have developed throughout their training. And the Lasagna alla Bolognese, made with fresh pasta, was truly a standout! Well done👏

Great food, great music, and an incredible crowd made our 4th annual Bubbles & Beats a night to remember!

From the amazing food prepared by Chef Q (Chef Q) with NECAT students, alumni, and staff, to the music, cocktails, cooking demo by Chef Avery (Avery Perry) and a room full of friends and supporters, there were so many moments worth celebrating.

We’re especially grateful to our sponsors Trefler Foundation, Ware Security, Conrad Builds, and POUR Hospitality, whose support helped make the evening possible. A special thank you to Jessica Castro and Trefler Foundation, whose support of Bubbles & Beats has helped us grow the event and welcome guests into NECAT for a fun night centered around great food and an even greater purpose.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, cheered on our students and alumni, met our board and team, and helped make our 4th annual Bubbles & Beats such a memorable evening. We’re already looking forward to hosting our 5th annual Bubbles & Beats next year at NECAT’s new home in Nubian Square!

Last Friday was a special capstone celebration for one of our students as she completed the final portion of her culinary job training at NECAT.

Last Friday, NECAT hosted the Fenway Reentry Advisory Board for its first in-person gathering in five years. We were honored to welcome partner organizations from across Boston and provide lunch for everyone in attendance.

Led by Alana Farrell of CRJ-CS, the Fenway Reentry Advisory Board brings together organizations serving reentry citizens to exchange resources, strengthen partnerships, and build a more connected network of support.

During the meeting, two NECAT reentry students shared their experiences working with several of the organizations represented in the room and reflected on how those services have supported their journeys.

Their stories were a powerful reminder that no single organization can meet every need alone. When community partners communicate, collaborate, and connect people with the right resources, we create an ecosystem of support for those we serve.

Congratulations, Cohort 77 & Haitian Creole Cohort 77!

Yesterday was such a joyous celebration at NECAT as we honored two incredible cohorts completing their journey with us.

From day one, they showed up ready to learn, grow, and support one another, demonstrating teamwork every step of the way. Whether in the kitchen, in the classroom, or by encouraging each other through challenges, these two cohorts proved what’s possible when you’re part of a team. From checking in when a classmate didn’t show up to class to giving rides that made it easier to attend evening classes, their camaraderie has been truly heartfelt.

We are proud to welcome all of these graduates into the NECAT alumni network and wish them continued success!
