The Roslindale Village Farmers Market is officially back for the season. With the incredible weather on our side, Adams Park was absolutely buzzing for opening day.

There is nothing quite like catching up with neighbors over fresh local produce, great coffee, and live music. These weekly markets do incredible heavy lifting for our community—they support regional farmers, boost our local Main Street businesses, and provide a space for us to connect.

Huge thanks to Roslindale Main Street and all the incredible vendors who make this market a Boston staple week after week.

It was an honor to celebrate the official inauguration of the Nuevo Dia Adult Day Health Center.

This facility ensures our seniors and adults with specialized health needs can access top-tier medical care, engaging activities, and a warm community right here in the neighborhood.
Congratulations to the entire Nuevo Dia team for bringing this vital resource to life

Joining DeeDee’s Cry for the Mental Health While Black Summit 2026 offered a powerful blueprint for how we must approach community wellness.

The panels and workshops dove straight into the intersections of mental health, relationships, and identity within BIPOC communities. For me, the day reinforced a critical truth: achieving mental health equity requires us to center the actual lived experiences of our neighbors.

DeeDee’s Cry created a necessary sanctuary for collective healing. Thank you to Toy and the entire team for leading this work with such deep intentionality.

There is no energy quite like the Boston D**e March. Friday night’s 2-mile march through Back Bay was the perfect start to Pride month.

Since 1995, this event has remained a vital, community-led tradition. Walking alongside neighbors, supporting local LGBTQIA+ vendors, and seeing the robust network of resources on display was a powerful reminder of Boston’s resilient q***r history. It’s an honor to show up in solidarity.

A massive shoutout to the organizers who put together this affirming space year after year, and to the dedicated volunteers of the D**e Patrol who trained to keep participants safe on the streets.

“These jobs aren’t just something extra for us—they are absolutely essential for us to live and survive in this city.”

Listen to Joaquim Lombos, a Youth Ambassador from Santana’s Youth Force, share the reality of why year-round youth jobs matter. For so many of our young people, these positions aren’t just about gaining resume experience—they are a matter of survival, keeping families afloat, and opening doors for the next generation.

We did not arrive at the Mayor’s announcement of 2,000 jobs by accident. It is the direct result of the relentless advocacy of hundreds of youth who actively showed up to make sure their needs were met.

I want to specifically thank Joaquim and the entire Santana’s Youth Force for holding me accountable and keeping the pressure exactly where it needed to be.

We are immensely proud of our youth for standing firm and ensuring the voices of the next generation are heard loud and clear.

Happy Pride Month, Boston! Today, we raised the Pride flag on City Hall Plaza alongside neighbors, advocates, local organizations, and our incredible team at the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQIA2S+ Advancement. A special thanks to Coro Allegro and the JP Honk Band for kicking the month off on such a high note!

Watching the flag rise today was a beautiful moment, but the true work of Pride happens all 365 days of the year. LGBTQIA+ rights aren’t seasonal.

Today, we celebrate the power of our community and the radical joy of being exactly who we are. At the same time, we are holding space for everyone navigating this month in silence, those who cannot safely be out, or anyone finding Pride challenging due to erasure or a lack of acceptance.

We see you. Your existence is valid, your journey is your own, and you belong here—exactly as you are, at your own pace.

For a young person in Boston, a first job is a rite of passage. It’s the exact moment you realize your ideas have value, your work has weight, and your city is a place where you can actually build a life.

This isn’t just about policy for me—this is the story of my own life. The school-year and summer programs I participated in as a kid gave me a safe place to go, mentors who looked out for me, and the space to figure out who I wanted to be. That experience planted a seed that led to me spending 15 years giving back through the Mission Hill Summer Program. Being on the City Council today is a direct extension of that work.

While I appreciate the administration exploring creative solutions to secure these 2,000 jobs during this tight budget cycle, relying on private lifelines underscores our ongoing responsibility.

Ensuring every young person who wants to work can find an opportunity remains a non-negotiable priority for my office.
