September is Workforce Development Month!

This week we are highlighting Janessa D., a graduate from JVS's HVAC/Heat Pump Technician training program.

After losing her job as a chef of 11 years while taking care of her son, Janessa thrived in hands-on HVAC training in our program with our partners at Franklin Cummings Tech. Now, she gets to utilize her training around the state as an HVAC Technician with MasTec Communications Group.

Our Transitions to Work team partnered with students from Oliver Ames High School this summer!

For five weeks, these talented interns guided groups of kindergarteners to second graders through packed days of activities at Camp Christina including ropes courses and the dramatic arts.

Congratulations to the graduates of our Transitions to Work program with Spaulding Rehabilitation!

These students spent the summer learning the skills to excel in food preparation in a fast-paced hospital environment including advanced food service terminology and procedures for working on a line.

Kanthep arrived in the US from Thailand looking to make a career transition into the healthcare field. He enrolled in JVS's Pharmacy Technician training program, where his instructor and career coach supported him to pass his PTCE exam. Now, Kanthep works as a Pharmacy Technician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
