Huge thank you to the incoming first-year student groups from Emmanuel College for volunteering at our Yawkey food pantry, Nazareth Residence, and St. Ambrose Family Shelter. Together, they helped food pantry staff distribute food to 194 households and prepared about 900 bags of food for the community. At Nazareth Residence, students sorted and organized materials and items for residents. At the St. Ambrose Family Shelter, students contributed by weeding the gardens despite inclement weather. Their teamwork and dedication have made a huge difference for the families we serve!

We're incredibly grateful to the incoming freshmen of Harvard University's First-Year Urban Program for volunteering at our Yawkey food pantry and Healthy Families program. Together, they helped food pantry staff serve over 700 clients in the community and took the time to help organize and sterilize the family and children’s spaces for our Healthy Families program. Your teamwork and dedication have made a huge difference for the families we serve!

“The cost of everything has gone up, so that is why our call logs are so much higher."

In a recent study published by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, 5,000 Massachusetts families were surveyed in 2025, revealing that they did not have the funds to cover an emergency expense in the $400 range. The study highlights a growing challenge that Catholic Charities Boston works every day to address: paying for emergency expenses.

Congratulations to all of the recent graduates from our Adult HiSET and Youth Works HiSET programs for their outstanding effort and dedication, and a huge thank you to Mayor Jared Nicholson, Coco Alinsug, City Council President of Lynn, MA / Councilor of Ward 3, and Natasha Megie-Maddrey, Esq. City Councilor Ward 4-Lynn, who joined us in celebration of these hardworking students.

We can’t wait to see all that these students accomplish next!

Catholic Charities Boston's El Centro IT and Cybersecurity training program is among 12 initiatives across Massachusetts that recently received a state grant to continue efforts to close the skills gap and increase access to well-paying jobs for those unemployed and underemployed in the Commonwealth.

Thank you to the faculty and staff from Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart who participated in a day of service for their annual All Educators Retreat at the Yawkey Center Food Pantry and Nazareth Residence Family Shelter. Their teamwork helped pack 900 bags of food to support neighbors in need and reorganize the Nazareth Residence Chapel. We're so grateful for their support and wish them and their students the best this new school year!

Our 2026 sessions were a blast! All summer long our campers made memories and friendships through activities like swimming, shooting hoops, field trips, and, of course, ✨Treasure Night.✨ No one has summer fun like Sunset Point Camp.
