Business confidence takes a hit in Massachusetts.

Tariffs, inflation concerns and renewed expectations of interest-rate hikes weighed on Massachusetts employers in August, sending the AIM Business Confidence Index (BCI) down 5.3 points to 47.4.

The decline pushed business confidence back into pessimistic territory, as employers navigate continued uncertainty around trade, energy costs and the broader economy.
