The Community Empowerment Fund grants are awarded to community based organizations to scale up their work and deepen their impact. This year, a total of $300,000 will be awarded to nonprofit organizations throughout Boston’s 🍀neighborhoods. 🏙️  The mission of the Office of Black Male Advancement ✊🏾 is focused on empowering and improving outcomes for Black men and boys in Boston. We want to ensure they have equitable access to opportunities in the City. 🌇

Through the FY27 Community Empowerment Small Grants, the Office of Black Male Advancement will award grants of up to $20,000 to support programs that expand one of the following four focus areas:
1. Mentoring and Out-of-School Time
2. Housing Mobility
3. Economic Inclusion and Wealth Building 4. Fatherhood Engagement.

All applications and required documents are due by Thursday, October 15 2026 at 5:00 PM ⏰ (No extensions will be granted).

TODAY‼️……. we had the pleasure of welcoming BPS students back to SCHOOL 🏫. It’s been a GREAT SUMMER ☀️, and now it’s time ⏰ to get back into the books 📚 and learn 🙋🏾‍♂️. We welcomed students from

We wish all students 🏫 the best of luck this year 📆 with all of their academics 📚🎓. BMA is not just a department but a resource 🛟 for the younger generation to encourage 👏🏾 and pour back into‼️

Over this past weekend, Our Executive Director & Chief of Staff of BMA AND Chair of the Black Men and Boys Commission joined “State of Opportunity for African American Males and Allies” by Office Black Male Engagement ✊🏾🤝🏾👏🏾✨

Black men ✊🏾 all across Philadelphia came together in a space to talk about the issues that is shaping their lives and connected 🔗 them with people who can help them!

The discussion 🗣️ grew further more when our very own mrfrankfarrow pushed the conversation with insights and intellectual honesty about reducing systemic barriers⛓️‍💥not just in Boston but all around country.

We look forward to continuing many more conversations and opportunities for future collaborations🤝🏾👏🏾‼️

On this special day📅, the Mayors Office of Black Male Advancement ✊🏾and the Black Men and Boys Commission will like to not only wish you a Happy Fathers Day🫂 to all the fathers out there but ESPECIALLY to the ❤️💚🖤Black Fathers out there who are constantly showing up, supporting🤝🏾, providing, and present! You are not just a father to your 🫵🏾kids but also a father to the fatherless. A mentor🙏🏾 to the kid across the street. A role model to the kid that says hi to you! We acknowledge and honor all the work that you not only do in your household🏠 but also in the community!
