Today, on this national day of remembrance, we pause to honor all those lost on Sept. 11, 2001, including our colleague, Richard Guadagno (1962-2001).​

Rich was the Refuge Manager at Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge in California and a trained law enforcement officer. On that tragic day, he was among the courageous passengers and crew of Flight 93 whose heroic actions prevented even greater loss.​
