Wayne DeHart dropped off his matching gift check to New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Director Shawn Buck!

Wayne originally offered a $5,000 matching challenge for our NH Gives campaign. But after seeing our community rally to exceed that goal and bring in $6,545 in individual donations, he immediately stepped up and increased his match to cover 100% of the total raised.

Because of Wayne's incredible generosity and your donations, likes, and shares, we raised a grand total of $13,090 this year.

Aside from major projects like the Memorial Walkway expansion and monument restorations, the NHVCA covers endless, unforeseen expenses throughout the year that the cemetery would otherwise have to do without. Your donations directly fund everything from flags, maintenance equipment, and groundskeeping to educational outreach, the Veterans Heritage Learning Center, and volunteer and event support.

The list of needs is endless, and every single dollar counts. As always, thank you for standing with us and supporting our veterans! 🇺🇸❤️

Words don't quite do justice to how breathtakingly beautiful and immaculate the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery is. Swipe through to see the pristine care given to these hallowed grounds. 📸👇

What stands out immediately is the realization of how much effort goes into keeping it this perfect. A remarkably small staff handles the monumental task of maintaining the entire property. Keeping those long rows perfectly straight is a massive challenge when New Hampshire’s winter frost is constantly trying to shift the ground. It’s amazing how this small team keeps everything so beautifully aligned year-round.

It is absolutely incredible what they achieve daily with such limited numbers, holding the grounds to absolute perfection. The dedication of the small, devoted crew working hard here is on display in every single corner. 🇺🇸

Flags are flying high this National Flag Week at the NHSVC!

If you’ve visited us recently, you know there is nothing quite like the sight of our flags blowing in the wind. They represent honor, sacrifice, and an unwavering gratitude for those who served.

Here at the cemetery, our flags tell a powerful story:

The Avenue of Flags: Welcomes every visitor at the entrance, standing as a solemn tribute to our veterans.

The Circle of Flags: Features Old Glory flying proudly alongside the POW/MIA and New Hampshire State flags.

The Markers: Twice a year—for Memorial Day and Veterans Day—flags are carefully placed at each and every marker to ensure our heroes are honored.

Weather takes a toll on these beautiful displays, and keeping them pristine is just one of many areas that donations to the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Association (NHVCA) support—from funding replacement flags to refurbishing and maintaining our flagpoles.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support in keeping our flags fresh, proud, and blowin' in the wind! 🌬️🇺🇸

Dual Celebrations: Happy 251st Birthday to the U.S. Army & Happy Flag Day!

Today, the NHVCA proudly stands at attention to pay tribute and extend our enormous gratitude to all of our New Hampshire Army veterans. For over two and a half centuries, our Soldiers have answered the call to defend freedom, embodying the very spirit of the flag they salute.

Did you know? The bond between New Hampshire and the Army runs incredibly deep. Roughly 45% of the brave heroes interred at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery (NHSVC) are Army veterans. Today, we hold their memory and their legacy of service close to our hearts.

To the Soldiers who served before, those who serve today, and those who rest in honored glory on our sacred grounds: Thank you for your unwavering dedication.

Go Army! 🛡️⭐

🇺🇸 HAPPY WOMEN VETERANS DAY! 🇺🇸

Today, June 12th, we honor the incredible courage, sacrifice, and dedication of all women who have served our nation, with a very special salute to our New Hampshire Military Women Veterans. You are role models and heroes in a very special way. We salute you!

Reflecting back on this day last year, we are reminded of an incredible milestone: the placement of the Women’s Memorial Monument at the Memorial Walkway on the NH State Veterans Cemetery.

A massive shoutout to Marty Gladu, Gretchen Dunkelberger, Sheila Casey, and the entire committee! Under their exceptional leadership, they expeditiously designed, fundraised for, and brought this stunning monument to life. The dedication ceremony was truly a once-in-a-lifetime event. As attendee Rick Cantu beautifully put it:

"The most patriotic I have felt since kindergarten."

Its beauty, light, and enduring presence reflect the strength, resilience, and grace of women who have served our nation. Dedicated June 12, 2025, this monument honors our sisters in arms who pledged their lives to protect life, liberty, justice, and freedom. May they always be remembered for their strength, courage, and bravery.

It stands as a symbol of freedom, pride, and honor—a testament to sacrifice, remembrance, and gratitude. Veterans supporting veterans. A legacy that endures.

Take a look at the attached photo to see the incredible major donors and local organizations who stepped up to make this a reality!

Please take a moment to acknowledge and support all women who have served—and who continue to serve—our country. Please join us in raising up our women veterans with praise and gratitude!

A heart ❤️. A hug 🤗. A comment 💬. A moment of thanks.
