đźš‘ A Friendly Note to Our Upper Chichester Neighbors
We’ve gotten quite a few questions lately about letters from the Aston Ambulance Authority, so we wanted to help clear up some confusion.
If you live in Upper Chichester Township, those letters do not apply to you.
These bills were not sent by our township. Unfortunately, some Upper Chichester residents received them in error because several neighboring municipalities share the same ZIP code. We know that understandably caused some confusion, so we wanted to set the record straight.
Upper Chichester residents are not required to pay any membership, subscription, annual fee etc to the Aston Ambulance Authority or any other entity for EMS services.
While you may occasionally see an Aston ambulance in town through mutual aid (just as we respond into neighboring communities when they’re busy), Boothwyn EMS remains Upper Chichester Township’s primary Advanced Life Support provider. We’ve proudly served this community for decades, and we’re honored to continue doing so every day.
Here’s what your local EMS provides:
❤️ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year ALS coverage
đźš‘ A transport-capable Mobile Intensive Care Unit staffed and ready to respond
🏡 A locally focused, nonprofit EMS system built around the needs of Upper Chichester- not membership quotas or annual subscription fees.
And perhaps the best part—our model is simple.
There are no mandatory authority annual fees or subscription bills just for residing in Upper Chichester township. If you never need an ambulance, you never receive a bill from us. If you do need our services, we bill your insurance first, and that’s when billing occurs—just like virtually every other healthcare service.
For neighbors who would like to support their hometown EMS even further, we do offer an optional community membership. Membership helps cover potential balance billing after insurance and, more importantly, helps us continue investing in the equipment, training, and personnel that keep our community safe. It’s completely voluntary, and every membership directly supports the EMS service protecting Upper Chichester.
