Come meet your local dispatchers-the voices working behind the scenes when our community needs help-and learn about the new CCJC Future First Responders Academy!
Students and families are invited to tour the communications center, meet our staff, see how emergency dispatch works, ask questions about the Academy, and receive help completing an application. Online and paper applications will be available.

Students and their families will have the opportunity to:
π Tour the 911 communications center
π§ See where emergency calls are answered and responders are dispatched
π¨ Learn what students will do during the Future First Responders Academy
π» Explore the training, technology, and responsibilities of a dispatcher
π€ Meet CCJC staff and ask questions
π Receive help completing the Academy application
π Complete an online or paper application during the event
π½οΈ BBQ will be served!
Dispatchers work closely with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, emergency management, and other public-safety agencies. Emergency communications is a great place to begin learning about these professions. The Academy will give students an inside look at how dispatch connects and supports every part of an emergency response.

We want students to have the opportunity to attend the Open House, learn more about the Academy, tour the center, ask questions, and receive help with their applications. Therefore, the application deadline has been extended to:

The CCJC Future First Responders Academy is an unpaid educational internship and career-exploration program for local high school students. Space is limited, and acceptance is competitive.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend. Come meet our team, see the communications center, and discover how the Future First Responders Academy can help students learn, grow, and explore a future in public safety.
