WELCOME ABOARD: We’re excited to share that the Boonville R-1 Board of Education has named Kelly Callanan as the next Activities Director at Boonville High School! 💙🏴‍☠️

Mr. Callanan will officially begin in summer 2026 for the 2026–2027 school year.

Originally from Ventura, California, he moved to Missouri 22 years ago to continue his education and play baseball. He holds degrees from Missouri Valley College and William Woods University and has spent his career teaching and coaching a wide range of sports. For the past five years, he has served as Activities Director at Marshall High School.

He shared, “I am beyond excited to join the Boonville Pirate family… I look forward to continuing the proud tradition of Boonville Pirate Athletics and Activities and to serving the students, staff, and community.”

BHS Principal Dr. Brent Hodge added, “We are excited to welcome Mr. Callanan to our BHS Team! His demonstrated leadership and commitment to students will allow us to continue and build upon the strong traditions and expectations that make Boonville High School Activities special.”

Today, several members of the Boonville Silver Pirate Band traveled to Warrensburg High School to audition for a spot in the West Central All-District Band/Orchestra. We are so proud of the dedication and the improvement that these students have shown as they prepared for their auditions.

There were over 450 students at Warrensburg High School competing for a spot in one of these ensembles.

We want to congratulate the following 18 Silver Pirate Band members who made one of the West Central All-District Ensembles.
